The Race Is On! WB Ramping Up Dinosaur Movie as Universal Rushes to Find 'Jurassic' Director
Plus, Travis Knight circles 'Masters of the Universe' and I review the Liam Hemsworth movie 'Land of Bad.'
It’s Tuesday night and I’m feeling alright, even though I did find out today that a hot scoop I’d been holding isn’t coming to fruition, which is a bummer, as that would’ve made for a very fun headline — trust me.
Speaking of headlines, it was a relatively quiet news day, though TheWrap’s Drew Taylor made some noise on today’s episode of The Hot Mic, where we discussed his reporting on the Coyote vs. Acme situation. I really don’t think you’re going to find a better chat about it than this one, so if you’re interested or confused, you should definitely check it out.
Plus, I mentioned a test screening for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes that did not go over very well. I think this movie looks good, but I’m told that privately, Disney execs are a little nervous — especially after the last Apes movie failed to meet internal expectations at the box office, grossing $490 million worldwide compared to the $710 million its predecessor took in.
In tonight’s edition, you’ll read about Ewan McGregor, David Robert Mitchell, Radio Silence, Chris McKay, Liam Hemsworth, Russell Crowe, Travis Knight, Elizabeth Olsen, Charles Melton, Todd Solondz, Lilly Wachowski, and Millie Bobby Brown.
