OK, the Oscars are about to start, so it’s time to drop my annual last-minute predictions column and wish my fellow Boston boy, Conan O’Brien, good luck tonight.

I can’t wait for Conan’s monologue, which I hear has been killing at local comedy clubs in Los Angeles, where he’s been testing his material.
