Happy Monday, folks!
Friday night, shortly after Deadline confirmed my scoop about Camila Morrone landing the female lead (alongside Adam DiMarco) in the Duffer brothers’ new Netflix horror series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, I rewatched Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, which remains the best, most complete film I’ve seen all year.
On Saturday night, I saw Emilia Pérez (review below), and last night, I saw Steve McQueen’s Blitz (review coming later this week). I also binged all of Netflix’s new spy series Black Doves starring Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw, and while that one is under embargo, you can check out a trailer for the show below.

Funny, that…
Tonight, I reveal the female lead in Frank Ocean’s feature directorial debut, which he’s been working on for a couple of years.
There are also items about a new movie based on The Fly, Lionsgate landing The Weeknd’s new movie, and TriStar shelling out some dough for the Nate Bargatze comedy The Breadwinner, plus my review of Netflix’s awards contender Emilia Pérez.
