Happy Monday, fam! A quick publishing advisory this week — I’m planning to publish three editions this week, as I am turning 40 YEARS OLD on Saturday and my family is flying out to hang with me in Joshua Tree before spending a couple of nights here in sunny(???) Los Angeles.
Not to go all Jerry Seinfeld on you, but seriously, what’s the deal with this weather? I pay L.A. rent for L.A. living and this rain is cramping my style. Jeff is getting upset! And why can’t anyone drive in the rain here? It’s bizarre…

It was shaping up to be a slow news day and I was about to finish transcribing an old interview when the dino-sized news hit that David Leitch is in talks to direct the next movie in the Jurassic World franchise. I feel weird calling it the Jurassic World franchise and not the Jurassic Park franchise, but I digress.
Deadline broke the news, but honestly, I should’ve seen this coming. The answer was so obvious, it was right in front of me, but I failed to see it. Shame on me.
The truth is that I’d heard another filmmaker’s name come up for this project a week or two ago…
