Exclusive: Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson in Talks to Star in Stephen King Adaptation 'The Long Walk'

Plus, where does Will Smith go after 'Bad Boys' bitch-slaps the box office, and why should Hollywood remake 'Very Bad Things'?

Happy Monday, folks!

This weekend, I watched a couple of episodes of Las Azules (under embargo) along with HBO’s experimental documentary about Slave Play and its creator Jeremy O. Harris (ditto). I also checked out the wild 1988 movie Miracle Mile starring “newlyweds” Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham, who got married more than 30 years later. I live in the Miracle Mile area, so it was cool to see what the neighborhood looked like decades ago.

On Saturday night, after grabbing some ice cream at the new Handel’s on Hollywood Blvd., I showed M’lady Richard Linklater’s Hit Man, which she enjoyed. That Netflix movie put me in the mood to watch Everybody Wants Some!! since that’s where I first noticed Hit Man stars Glen Powell and Austin Amelio. I bet that movie is going to have a little renaissance — you watch.

In tonight’s newsletter, you’ll read about who’s being cast in the latest Stephen King adaptation coming to the big screen, what Will Smith should consider doing after Bad Boys: Ride or Die proved the public doesn’t care about The Slap, the Sandra Bullock-Nicole Kidman movie that’s getting a sequel, who is taking over the role of John Creasy in a Man on Fire TV series, and which Marvel and Star Wars alum is joining Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later. Plus, I mount an argument for why Hollywood should remake Very Bad Things.
