'Star Wars' Exclusive: Sigourney Weaver in Talks to Join 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' Movie

Plus, Scarlett Johansson gets a new 'Jurassic' co-star, and I pay my respects to KTLA's Sam Rubin, who died on Friday.

I wish I could say Happy Friday, folks, like usual, but we begin tonight with some sad news — beloved KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin has died at the age of 64 following a sudden heart attack.

Tragic

Rubin had been at KTLA since 1991, which is incredible, especially in a cutthroat market such as Los Angeles, where he surely interviewed everyone — and I do mean everyone — throughout his 33-year career.

Dozens of mourning celebrities expressed their sympathies and paid their respects to Rubin on Twitter, where I first saw the shocking news. I’d met Sam a few times and he was always so nice, and also excited about whatever it was that we were up to as entertainment journalists that day.

My heart goes out to his friends and family, including four children. My god… life is short, people. Live every day like it’s your last.

Tonight’s newsletter is dedicated to Sam Rubin. He was one of us — the people who truly love movies. May his memory be a blessing. R.I.P.

In tonight’s newsletter, find out the first new addition to a Star Wars movie in nearly six years, plus, Scarlett Johansson has a new Jurassic co-star, FX takes a step toward bringing back Shogun, Frank Grillo joins a live-action DC series, Woody Harrelson offers a Nazi a massage, and Olivia Wilde needs sex.
