Revisiting Our Oscar Predictions in All Four Acting Categories - 'For Your Consideration'

Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff, and I discuss who the current frontrunners are, plus, we discuss tomorrow night's SAG Awards, and why I think those winners will be different.

Tonight, in two new episodes of For Your Consideration — Hollywood’s #1 awards-themed talk show — Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and I revisit the four acting categories and reveal who we think the current frontrunners immediately following the close of Oscar voting.

I don’t know that there are any real locks this season, nor do I believe people should read too much into Sunday night’s SAG Award winners, who I expect to be completely different than the Oscars.

Timothee Chalamet just might win the SAG Award, but I’m confident that Adrien Brody will still win the Oscar, as I think Academy voters will make the 29-year-old Chalamet wait a while longer to take the stage at the Dolby.

For weeks, conventional wisdom had Demi Moore a lock to win the Oscar, but as I’ve been saying, I’m not buying it. There’s a reason Moore has thus far been ignored by the Academy. Again, she could very well win, but people are talking more about her narrative and her speeches than her performance, which could leave room for an upset from Mikey Madison — or Fernanda Torres, for that matter.

Zoe Saldana seemed like a surefire winner mere weeks ago, but I’ve sensed a vulnerability in her campaign, one that has nothing to do with Karla Sofia Gascon’s social media controversy.

Ariana Grande has been positioned as her primary competition, but I’d keep an eye on Felicity Jones come Oscar night, as she’s the only other past nominee. Everyone else is a first-timer, and The Brutalist has a lot of support. Plus, there’s no one from Anora or The Substance to compete with.

And although Kieran Culkin has swept the season, I still think that category is wide open, as it features three nominees from Best Pictures nominees that have more support within the Academy than A Real Pain.

Thank you for watching For Your Consideration, and feel free to leave a comment on Perri’s YouTube channel, as we welcome constructive feedback from all FYC fans.

We’ll be back next week with our final Oscar prediction. Until next time, we'll FYC-ya later!
