“That’s a Bingo!” on Ringo as Drummer Confirms Barry Keoghan Will Star in Sam Mendes’ Beatles Biopics

Plus, John Krasinski and Matthew Rhys sign on for a new serial killer series, James Nesbitt can't "run away" from Harlan Coben, and more 'Dragon' duty for Gerard Butler.

Happy Wednesday, folks, and more importantly, Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be grateful for right now, including all of you reading this, so thank you for giving me the support and encouragement that has allowed me to go out on my own this year and do this crazy job my way, without having to answer to anyone.

I truly, truly appreciate each and every one of you, whether you’re a paid subscriber or you just like seeing my name pop up in your inbox, and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones.

Last night, I didn’t watch anything, as my face has been buried in James Patterson’s latest Alex Cross novel The House of Cross. And by the way, if you aren’t watching Cross on Prime Video, you really should be, as Aldis Hodge is excellent as the DC detective, and I loved Ryan Eggold’s turn as this season’s sadistic villain.

I also enjoyed this Variety article about Pras Michél, the former Fugees member who allegedly became a Chinese spy, written by the trade’s birthday girl Tatiana Siegel (cheers to her).

In minor release date news, Sony moved back the release of Paddington in Peru, slotting it directly against Captain America: Brave New World. Does Tom Rothman smell blood in the water over at Marvel?

Tonight you’ll read about Ringo Starr confirming my scoop from this summer that Barry Keoghan will play him in the Beatles biopics that Sam Mendes is mounting for Sony. Plus, a little scoop about James Nesbitt landing yet another Harlan Coben series at Netflix.

There are also items about John Krasinski’s new serial killer series for Prime Video, the latest Voltron casting, who will play Shane Gillis’ father in Season 2 of Tires, and the trailer for the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie. That’s back-to-back Gerard Butler movies in the “Trailer Time” space of this newsletter. I’m spoiling you guys!
