Exclusive: It’s a 'Star Wars' Notebook Dump, From Daisy Ridley’s Payday to the Possible Schedule

Plus, a James Patterson-Michael Crichton bidding war, Pauly Shore's comeback, and a Red Hot Chili Peppers movie.

It was a bit of a sleepy Wednesday as Hollywood denizens packed their favorite pair of long underwear and prepared to bid adieu to their families before making the trek to Park City tomorrow for the Sundance Film Festival.

I’m unable to attend this year because my former boss never reimbursed me for last year’s festival — he still owes me $3000 for that — so I’m going to miss everyone, but I’ll do my best to check out some movies online and stay abreast of everything happening in the snow while suffering from major FOMO.

Last night, I watched Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s astronaut thriller I.S.S., which I’ll weigh in on soon enough, and tonight, I plan to catch up with the Fargo Season 5 finale to see if I was right or wrong to name it my #1 series of 2023 on pure faith in Noah Hawley. I’ve heard he stuck the landing, so I’m excited to press send on this newsletter, close my laptop, and crack open a Hulu account I’m certainly not paying for.

In tonight’s edition, you’ll read about James Patterson, Michael Crichton, Anthony Kiedis, Allison Janney, Andrew Rannells, Anna Faris, Jennifer Coolidge, Forest Whitaker, Jenny Slate, Rosa Salazar, Pauly Shore, Richard Simmons, Christopher Landon, Theo James, and Alex Goldstone, plus Daisy Ridley and a little franchise called Star Wars.
