'The White Lotus' Finale Reaction, Composer Drama, and the European Countries Being Eyed for Season 4

Plus, Robert Pattinson joins the next 'Dune' movie, Hulu drops an animated 'Predator' trailer, and directors Matt Johnson, Matt Spicer, and Michael Sarnoski set new projects.

Happy Wednesday, folks!

Last night, I saw Christopher Landon’s new Blumhouse movie Drop followed by dinner with a source at the Cheescake Factory. What can I say? I’m a big spender!

This morning, Landon admitted he exited Scream 7 due to “highly-aggressive death threats” from fans of Melissa Barrera, who held him responsible for her firing for some bizarre reason, even though it was clearly a Spyglass decision.

Landon also revealed that he exited Amblin’s Arachnophobia remake due to “creative differences,” which is a bummer. But if that’s now an open assignment now then I hope that Steven Spielberg and fellow producer James Wan are looking at Final Destination: Bloodlines directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, both of whom got their start on the Spielberg-backed reality series On the Lot. That would bring their careers full circle and make for quite the story, I think. Plus, those guys are going to be hot this summer — you watch!

Speaking of hot, Netflix is in talks with Brad Pitt’s Plan B, the producers of Adolescence, about doing a second season of the show, which is now in the streamer’s Top 5 most-viewed series of all time.

It’s unclear whether Season 2 would follow the same family or focus on an entirely new case. I think Erin Doherty’s character could be the connective tissue, as it’d be easy to find a troubling new case for her to weigh in on.

Before going to bed last night, I watched the upcoming indie thriller Neighborhood Watch (due April 25) starring Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as well as the penultimate episode of “Season 1” of Daredevil: Born Again, which set the stage for next week’s season finale quite nicely.

Tonight, I offer my take on the Season 3 finale of The White Lotus and where I’ve heard the show could be going for Season 4. Plus, I weigh in on the beef between series creator Mike White and composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer.

There are also items about Robert Pattinson joining the next Dune movie, a movie about the creator of the Hershey’s chocolate bar, the actual young star of Mike Flanagan’s Carrie series, a tribute to Steven Spielberg’s longtime publicist Marvin Levy, and the trailer for the animated Hulu movie Predator: Killer of Killers from director Dan Trachtenberg and writer Micho Rutare.
