Toldja! Warner Bros. Shakes Up 2025 Release Calendar as Studio Finds Potential Buyer for 'Coyote vs. Acme'

Plus, WB explores a sale of the entire 'Looney Tunes' franchise as it gets into business with director Jonah Hill, and my review of the Bill Skarsgard-led thriller 'Locked.'

Happy Wednesday, everyone, and congrats on making it more than halfway through the workweek!

I was MIA yesterday on a top-secret set visit — don’t ask — and this morning I had an illuminating breakfast with one of the town’s top producers, who agreed with me that what this town really needs is fresh blood in its executive ranks.

There are simply too many industry elites in C-suites across town who have lost touch with the audience and no longer have their finger on the pulse. They’ve also allowed their own personal politics to dictate creative decisions and, in turn, alienate half the audience. Sigh…

Elsewhere, I’m bummed that I still haven’t caught up with A24’s Opus, but I am up-to-date on Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, and it sure was great to see Jon Bernthal reprise his role as the Punisher last night. Plus, my boy Lou Taylor Pucci popped up at the end of the episode, and I’m an LTP fan for life!

Tonight, you’ll read about the WB release calendar shakeup that I predicted back in December and which has now, finally, come to fruition two weeks before CinemaCon. You’ll also read about WB’s pending deal to sell off Coyote vs. Acme — and possibly the entire Looney Tunes franchise itself!

Additionally, there are items about Jonah Hill’s new movie, Conan O’Brien’s return to the Oscars, a remake of The Idolmaker, and the end of the road for Village Roadshow. Plus, a review of the Bill Skarsgard-Anthony Hopkins thriller Locked, and a look at the trailer for Neon’s Dave Franco-Alison Brie horror movie Together.
